West Midlands Police Forensic Scene Investigators Lab — Forensic scientists working in the crime laboratory located in Ridgepoint House. The forensic laboratory has been created to provide a dedicated blood screening service on all major crime exhibits that are submitted through to the forensic unit. The aim of this is to only submit exhibits with blood present which are likely to generate a DNA profile.

Research has shown that some crime labs are paid by the number of convictions they contribute to, rather than the work that they do. This is a big problem.

The death penalty causes all sorts of hand-wringing as people argue reasons for and against, but there is really only one reason that matters, and it’s why capital punishment should be eliminated.
